POSITION SUMMARY
Oversee, instruct, and assist the daily operations of the Large Container Tree Operations teams. Assess productivity and quality indicators to guarantee timely completion of work tasks.

Ensure that teams adhere to all safety regulations and utilize the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) required for their assignments.

Anticipate and prepare for upcoming workloads, ensuring that teams are equipped with the appropriate materials and tools ahead of time. Team Supervisors should actively participate in tasks alongside team members while intermittently evaluating quality, safety, and efficiency.

Team Supervisors should competently execute all responsibilities associated with both LCTF Crew Member I and II roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES


Receive and acknowledge work assignments from the Team Leader and organize daily activities to maintain team schedules.

Document all necessary data and input it into the Task On Time (TOT) system.

Ensure all tools and equipment are well-maintained and report any mechanical or safety concerns to the supervisor without delay.

Lead the team effectively.

Meet with the supervisor each morning prior to the start of work to obtain the daily schedule.

Gather tools (after receiving the schedule from the supervisor) for all team members for the day.

Ensure that all team members are performing to the best of their abilities throughout the day.

Maintain a daily log of tree counts for each team member and submit it to the Team Leader at the end of the day.

Address any equipment issues and report them to the supervisor.

Notify the Inventory Supervisor or your supervisor of any tool problems, providing details for resolution.

Return all tools to inventory at the end of each day, reporting any issues with the tools to the Inventory Supervisor.

Report any injuries to the supervisor or HR office immediately.

Communicate any disciplinary issues to the supervisor for further action.

Report any observed problems in the field (e.g., damaged trees, loose ropes, trellis issues, washouts, etc.).

Assist in orienting and training new employees on company procedures and practices.

Supervise team members' work for quality and quantity.

Enforce all safety regulations and report unsafe practices or conditions to the Team Leader promptly. Support the Team Leader with daily counts and other assigned tasks.

Continuously evaluate the productivity of the group and encourage team performance.


Support the Cherrylake Mission Statement and Strategies by achieving production targets, taking pride in one’s work, and delivering high-quality service.

Balance workload by collaborating closely with the crew, maintaining work pace, and inspecting work quality.

Ensure the work area is cleaned at the end of each day (removing trash, bamboo, tie tape, buckets, ladders, rakes).

Weeds should be removed during pruning activities. Ensure that team members are performing this task daily.

Bamboo must be organized to clearly identify what needs to be removed.

Ensure that your crew meets the daily goals set by the supervisor to enhance productivity and foster teamwork.

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 1 year of experience in tree farming, nurseries, or related fields.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Ability to perform basic numerical tasks such as counting.

Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Knowledge of tree identification.

Responsible and capable of assigning tasks, training, or demonstrating methods to accomplish work safely and efficiently.

Familiarity with shifting and consolidation practices is preferred but not mandatory.

Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate small hand tools and farm equipment.

REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are advantageous.

This is a full-time position, with workdays from Monday to Saturday, totaling 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job requirements.


While performing the duties of this position, employees may be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outdoor weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
