Overview:


In this role, you will manage the daily operations of the Human Resources department, which includes greeting both internal and external guests, administering payroll, facilitating new hire onboarding, reviewing company benefits programs, conducting enrollments, and addressing inquiries while troubleshooting issues.

This is a full-time position with a standard workweek.

Responsibilities:
Assist associates with requests and provide timely information. Address associate questions and concerns promptly.

Prepare bi-weekly payroll, including data entry for tips, incentives, and various leave types. Ensure accuracy in all payroll transactions and conduct quarterly audits.

Act as a liaison for associates regarding pay inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies. Investigate and rectify balance errors as necessary.

Review payroll accuracy, including deductions, and report discrepancies to the Human Resources Director.

Order out-of-cycle payroll checks as required, ensuring compliance with labor laws. Distribute paychecks as needed.

Assist in recruiting efforts, including screening and reference checks for all hotel positions. Schedule interviews and manage related paperwork while maintaining applicant flow data.

Monitor and update job requisitions as necessary. Communicate job openings internally and externally through various channels.

Respond to all interviewed candidates within the required timeframe.

Support the Director of Human Resources in achieving objectives outlined in the hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).

Ensure all new hires and current associates have proper employment eligibility verifications.

Explain various benefit plans to associates and assist with enrollment and claims processing. Manage benefits enrollments electronically within eligibility timeframes.

Create and update Human Resources bulletin boards, event flyers, and other communication materials as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date department and associate files.

Assist with associate relations events and recognition initiatives as needed.

Comply with attendance policies and be available to work regularly.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

2+ years of customer service experience in a high-volume environment; Human Resources experience is preferred. Hotel experience is also a plus.

1+ year(s) of payroll processing experience for a large number of associates and/or progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience.

Experience with Marriott Hotels is preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Proficient in payroll processing software such as Workday, ADP, and/or Kronos.

Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and design tools like Canva.


Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, perform, and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.

Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity and organization.


Ability to adapt communication styles to suit various audiences, including management and associates.

Demonstrates versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with a sense of urgency and humor.

Adept problem solver with strong customer service skills.
