Role Overview:

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating heavy civil projects, including tunnels, bridges, and mass transit systems. This position requires strong leadership to manage self-perform activities and effectively coordinate subcontractor efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Project Award:
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and evaluate new project opportunities.
  • Engage in the estimating and proposal processes for upcoming projects.
  • Review project documentation to develop effective means and methods for project execution.
  • Assist in the creation of subcontractor scope packages and pricing.
  • Work with the Preconstruction Group to establish project schedules and budgets.
Post-Project Award:
  • Facilitate the transition of projects from estimating to the project team.
  • Negotiate terms and scopes of work with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop engineering plans and manage the engineering staff to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and support quality control initiatives.
  • Oversee project material procurement and manage required consultants.
  • Maintain project schedules and monitor progress against established benchmarks.
  • Prepare and deliver necessary project reports to the home office.
  • Assist in managing project changes and pricing adjustments.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and site assessments.
  • Physical capability to navigate outdoor construction sites and lift materials as required.
