Key Responsibilities- Manage transportation projects from design through construction, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Drive the success of engineering projects, providing influence and guidance to the sustainable projects we work on.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development and training to technical engineering team.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team, collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
- Prepare schedules, budgets, and scopes of services for projects.
- Workload balancing and support regional leader in business development.
- Provide quality control over team deliverables.
- 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity; 5+ years as a Project Manager; 3+ years managing staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or TE (Traffic Engineer) licensure.
- Experience in, and knowledge of, the field of active, non-motorized transportation.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimates packages for roadway projects and a detailed understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations.
- Exhibits strong initiative and ability to capitalize on opportunities to enhance Alta's position in the marketplace.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Excellent professional ethics, leadership skills, accountability, and decision-making capabilities.
- Good presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, MS Project or equivalent, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Proficiency in an enterprise-wide resource planning and project management tool.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Experience managing large projects for both private and public clients.
- Experience using Deltek Vision.
- Active participation in industry-relevant professional associations and committees.

The pay range for this job in Portland is $117,000-$180,000 annually. Placement within the range is based upon experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.
