GEI Consultants is looking for a dedicated civil engineer with advanced qualifications to support intricate and demanding projects across various locations. Our engineering division is engaged in a diverse array of initiatives, including levees, dams, structural foundations, flood protection systems, tunnels, and ground improvement techniques. As a key team member, you will participate in planning, observing, and documenting field investigations and construction processes, conducting and reviewing analytical and design computations, and aiding in the creation of technical documentation such as reports and design memos.

Work Locations

This role is available in multiple offices.

Work Flexibility

GEI Consultants embraces a hybrid work model, allowing employees to select from various options that combine remote work and in-office presence. This may include full telecommuting, working in the office a minimum of two days a week, or three days a week, fostering a progressive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers on a variety of projects focused on geotechnical instrumentation, site investigations, and design support for heavy civil and geotechnical endeavors.
  • Contribute to evaluation and design efforts as part of a collaborative team by performing geotechnical modeling, analysis, and design calculations.
  • Create design and construction drawings and specifications utilizing computer-aided design tools.
  • Draft written documentation, including technical memos, reports, and construction specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and construction documents, and oversee field construction activities.
  • Engage in field assignments up to 50% of the time, with potential out-of-area projects lasting 2-3 weeks.
  • Support proposal development and business growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • EIT Certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering with a solid understanding of geotechnical and earthquake engineering principles.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GeoStudio; GIS experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and readiness to work in the field as required.
