Patient Service Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Associate to join our team at Duke Health. As a key member of our Patient Revenue Management Organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate activities to prepare for clinic visits, including reviewing patient information and completing necessary preparations.
- Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts.
- Check-in patients, verify demographic data, and accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visits.
- Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signatures as needed.
- Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.
- Imprint patient-specific chart documents and requisition/transmittal documents.
- Coordinate all labs/procedures as requested.
- Prepare encounter forms, investigate missing forms, and audit for completeness and accuracy.
- Schedule tests and procedures, complete and distribute ancillary service requisitions.
- Explain billing to patients and collect cash according to PRMO policies.
- Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses, and others.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public, preferably in a healthcare-related field.
