Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Human Resources to join our team at KIPP Columbus. As a key member of our People Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading our Human Resources function and driving strategic initiatives to support the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources
    • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
    • Lead the management and development of our HR team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure their success.
    • Manage employee relations, including investigations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
    • Partner with our People Leadership Team to identify and drive key HR initiatives, including wellness, total rewards, compensation, and engagement.
    • Build strong relationships with our school leaders and School Support Team to ensure alignment of HR processes and resources with program needs.
  • Onboarding and Performance
    • Develop and implement effective onboarding processes to ensure new hires are introduced to our organization's values and culture.
    • Oversee systems and structures to support performance reviews, including preparation, execution, and facilitation.
    • Refine our performance evaluation system to ensure it provides actionable feedback and links to professional development opportunities.
  • Payroll and Benefits
    • Implement and administer competitive benefits and wellness strategies for our team members.
    • Work with external partners to manage employee benefit programs, including health insurance, life insurance, and retirement plans.
    • Ensure compliance with US benefits, employment, and insurance laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, business administration, or organizational development.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, metrics, and storytelling with various stakeholders and audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and oversee multiple cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in an academic or school environment is strongly preferred.
