Senior Specialist, EHS

As a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and program management for our level 1 site. You will provide regulatory expertise to ensure that all applicable regulations are known and implemented. You will also plan, organize, and implement environmental, health, and safety activities at the facility and assist in monitoring all facility activities to ensure that regulatory and company requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze data to recognize opportunities for proactive improvements within defined value streams and drive action plans to completion.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support for implementation and sustainability of the site's compliance programs and EHS management processes and engagement programs.
* Lead the efforts to create and deploy processes that identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace to comply with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
* Lead EHS investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions as needed for near miss, injury/illness, and environmental incidents within defined value streams at level 1 facilities.
* Lead regulatory recordkeeping, reporting, and case management activities within defined value streams and level 1 facilities.
* Provide and track training for all affected team members within defined value streams and level 1 facilities in relation to health, safety, and environmental policies, practices, and procedures and regulatory standards.
* Manage, document, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - leading and lagging - for the defined value streams at level 1 facilities.
* Lead efforts in managing all mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring, inspection, and reporting activities at the facility, including DOT within defined value streams at level 1 facilities.
* Ensure the alignment of Southwire EHS policies and procedures.
* Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for the facility, assisting with the coordination of emergency services and contractors. This requires on-call duty 24 hours each day, 7 days a week.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other applicable to the health, safety, and environmental fields.
* 9 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities.
* Working knowledge of various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
* Professional certification is desired.
* Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts.
* Excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
