Environmental Health and Safety Manager

The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is a key member of the Southwire Company team, responsible for ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance and program management for level 1 site. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to provide leadership and guidance to implement and sustain compliance programs and EHS management processes.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Regulatory Expertise
Provide regulatory expertise to ensure regulatory requirements applicable to the facility are known and understood. Develop and implement processes to identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace to comply with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
Leadership and GuidanceLead the efforts to create and deploy processes that identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace. Provide leadership, guidance, and support for implementation and sustainability of the site's compliance programs and EHS management processes and engagement programs.
Investigations and Corrective ActionsLead EHS investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions as needed for near miss, injury/illness, and environmental incidents within defined value stream at level 1 facility.
Regulatory Recordkeeping and ReportingLead regulatory recordkeeping, reporting, and case management activities within defined value stream and level 1 facility.
Training and DevelopmentProvide and track training for all affected team members within defined value stream and level 1 Facility in relation to health, safety, and environmental policies, practice, and procedures and regulatory standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Manage, document, and track KPIs for the defined value stream at level 1 facility.
Compliance AssuranceLead efforts in managing all mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring, inspection, and reporting activities at the facility, including DOT within defined value streams at level 1 facility.
Emergency ResponseServe as Emergency Response Coordinator for the facility, assisting with the coordination of emergency services and contractors. This requires on-call duty 24 hours each day, 7 days a week.
Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other applicable to the health, safety, and environmental fields
- 9 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities
- Working knowledge of various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc)
- Professional certification is desired
- Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts
- Excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills
