Position Overview

Dogwood Industries LLC is in search of a manufacturing assembly technician to become a vital part of our workforce. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to assemble components and materials with precision and efficiency, adhering to provided plans and specifications. The candidate should be adept at comprehending both written and verbal instructions, as well as interpreting drawings and work directives. Proficiency in operating standard shop equipment along with hand and power tools is essential. Responsibilities will include working with metal cladding, insulation, and steel components. The candidate should have expertise in carpentry, material handling, and mechanical assembly, while ensuring a safe working environment through proper organization and cleanliness.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Background in construction or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in carpentry roles
  • Competence in a trade, capable of applying skills across various tasks
  • Ability to select appropriate tools for tasks and ensure their proper usage
  • Skilled operation of standard shop equipment
  • Involvement in developing processes for consistent task execution

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years in roofing or carpentry is preferred
  • Experience in metal building and construction installation is advantageous
  • High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational qualification

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While executing job duties, the employee is frequently required to have full mobility in both upper and lower body, reach overhead, and work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting. The employee must be able to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; and maintain balance for extended periods. The ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks is essential, with a lifting capacity of up to 70 pounds. The employee will encounter shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position necessitates physical activity involving somewhat strenuous daily tasks in a primarily production-focused environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.

Compensation

$34.00 per hour, contingent upon experience and qualifications.

Applicant Information

  • Candidates must provide a complete work history along with employer references for the last three to five years
  • All employees are subject to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment and random drug testing. Due to the nature of the work environment, THC testing will be included in all drug screenings.

Training Requirements

A training period of 30 days is mandatory.
