Job Summary

The IT Systems Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Enterprise-Class IT Systems both internally and externally with our clients. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network, server, and messaging-based IT Systems. This individual will technically lead IT projects and provide escalation to other team members.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies within large systems environments by advising on design concepts, implementation strategies, and deployment timelines.
  • Manage development, testing, and deployment of software and other computer systems technologies to ensure compliance with operational requirements for security, performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Internal IT Data Center support and maintenance.
  • Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefit relationships and develop ongoing computer systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements.
  • Create thorough documentation records of design specifications and deployed systems configurations.
  • Coordinate and execute Azure and Private Cloud managed services implementations.
  • Provide network and security assessments, identifying opportunities for system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Create, document, and escalate issues and problems according to ticketing standards and SLAs.
  • Perform remote and onsite scheduled maintenance for ComTec internal and client-based systems.
  • Adhere to departmental policies for reporting and managing change requests.
  • Participate in an emergency on call rotation schedule.
  • Support development and implementation of Microsoft Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure.
  • SQL, Hyper-V, and Software Defined Storage performance tuning.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Enterprise backup solutions Veeam, Storage Craft, Datto, Azure
  • Knowledgeable of Enterprise Class Storage Solutions, and Software Defined Storage
  • Working knowledge of HP, Dell, and SonicWall hardware
  • Understanding of 802.1Q VLANS and Traffic Prioritization

Education, Experience, & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Preferred Certifications
  • o Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • o Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • o SonicWall Network Security Professional (SNSP)
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Use of computer and office equipment
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Performs all administrative functions expected at this level
