Responsibilities

The role involves assisting directors of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), retirement communities, or assisted living facilities with management and supervision on a temporary or as-needed basis. Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing support during management vacancies, start-ups, acquisitions, or leaves of absence.
  • Functioning in various capacities such as supervising, quality assurance, training, and direct resident care.
  • Conducting operations aligned with strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, associate satisfaction, occupancy rates, and operational effectiveness.

Staff Management

Assisting in the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel while fostering a positive team environment. Responsibilities may also include:

  • Conducting interviews and recommending hiring decisions.
  • Supporting marketing efforts, resident admissions, assessments, and discharge procedures.
  • Evaluating training needs and providing necessary training for staff.
  • Resolving budget discrepancies and variances.
  • Addressing issues raised by residents or their families.

Facility Management

Ensuring that the residence's building and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe. This may involve:

  • Performing routine safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborating with healthcare management to organize and conduct service plan reviews.
  • Supervising the maintenance of resident charts and reviewing documentation from care staff.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution along with three to five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required.

Licensing Requirements

A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for business purposes are mandatory. Candidates must be licensed according to state regulations and be prepared for extensive travel.

Skills and Knowledge

Strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of the organization and industry are essential for effective problem-solving and decision-making.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform various physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds. Interaction with residents, co-workers, and vendors is a key aspect of the position.
