Advocate Aurora Health is in search of an Interventional Radiology Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care through advanced imaging techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Skillfully operate angiographic and ultrasound machinery to conduct a variety of procedures for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Assistance in Procedures: Support interventional and surgical operations as a scrub assistant, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of equipment and procedural protocols.
  • Patient Monitoring: Vigilantly observe patients, promptly notifying staff of any critical changes in their condition, and be prepared to perform life-saving measures as necessary.
  • Image Processing: Ensure the quality of diagnostic images by identifying and processing them accurately, maintaining high standards of imaging quality.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring accurate patient and study information is logged in the radiology information system.
  • Education and Support: Act as a resource for colleagues and students, providing guidance and sharing expertise in radiology practices.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside various departments to enhance patient management and streamline imaging processes.
  • Patient Care: Execute patient positioning and transportation tasks, adhering to safety protocols while ensuring comfort and care.
  • Age-Specific Care: Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental needs of patients across the lifespan, providing tailored care as per departmental guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid Radiographer license and be registered as a Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required within a specified timeframe.
  • Education: Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist capacity is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of radiology techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology and software relevant to radiology.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and maneuvering patients safely.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols in a clinical environment.
