Job Overview:

This role is essential in supporting students with behavioral challenges through effective intervention techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct observations of students to collect pertinent information and collaborate with the educational team on student programming.
  2. Advise school staff on effective learning strategies and support mechanisms for students facing behavioral difficulties.
  3. Demonstrate intervention techniques and mentor staff on the application of specific strategies.
  4. Engage in student and administrative meetings as necessary.
  5. Assist in the completion of functional assessments and the creation of behavior support plans for students.
  6. Provide training for staff on methodologies, strategies, and resources tailored for students with behavioral challenges.
  7. Maintain communication with staff regarding the execution of instructional strategies for students exhibiting behavioral issues.
  8. Stay informed about evidence-based practices relevant to students with behavioral challenges.
  9. Facilitate professional development activities, including training in Crisis Prevention Intervention.
  10. Act as a liaison with state and national initiatives related to positive behavior support.
  11. Participate actively in various district teams or committees, offering feedback and serving as a liaison to other district personnel.
  12. Support and uphold school policies, philosophies, and objectives in interactions with students and parents.
  13. Engage in ongoing professional development activities to ensure continuous growth and the incorporation of best practices.
  14. Participate in extracurricular events outside of standard working hours, such as presenting programs or attending conferences.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate Special Education endorsement. Preferred credentials include Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Working Environment:
Collaborate effectively with special education teams to enhance student outcomes.

Compensation:
Salary will be determined based on education and experience.
