Position Overview

The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role requires a strong understanding of imaging techniques and patient care.

Department Details

  • Department: Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain detailed cross-sectional images.
  • Conduct pre-screening, scheduling, and patient education regarding the imaging process.
  • Manage patient data and ensure the quality of images submitted to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization within the imaging department.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Credentialing as a Radiologic Technologist in MRI or Radiography from ARRT or ARMRIT required within one year of hire.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field.
