Full-Time Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently operates angiographic and ultrasound apparatus to conduct both basic and advanced procedures for inpatients and outpatients. Must demonstrate proficiency in all relevant procedures performed at the assigned facility.
  • Assists in interventional and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant, showcasing competent knowledge of equipment and options while collaborating effectively with attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitors patient conditions and promptly alerts staff to any life-threatening changes. Capable of applying defibrillators and performing CPR as necessary.
  • Ensures images are of diagnostic quality and assists clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment for consistent image quality.
  • Verifies requisitions against physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Post-processes images as instructed, accurately identifying and labeling images with patient details.
  • Maintains records in compliance with regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Acts as a technical resource and role model for students and staff, providing guidance and support across the system.
  • Facilitates clinical problem-solving and collaborates with other departments to educate on patient management post-procedure.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transportation duties, adhering to proper techniques.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, assessing data reflective of patient status.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

  • Radiographer license issued by the state.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months unless exempted by department leadership.

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology beyond high school.

Experience:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and aseptic techniques.
  • Familiarity with vascular and cerebral anatomy.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse healthcare providers.
  • Proficiency in suturing vascular access sheaths.
  • Ability to work independently and possess intermediate computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and performing other physical activities throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • May be exposed to various hazards; personal protective equipment must be utilized as necessary.
  • Clear speech, vision, and hearing are essential.
