Specialized Educator for Elementary Students

Overview:
The role involves guiding students through a structured curriculum while ensuring that each individual's objectives are integrated within their personalized education plan and/or other targeted interventions. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences essential for becoming successful, contributing members of society in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction based on District and state-approved curriculum, utilizing integrated or direct service methods tailored to student requirements.
- Adjust and customize lessons and curriculum to address the unique needs and IEP goals of each student.
- Conduct and modify assessments to track student progress, implementing standardized evaluations as necessary, and adapting tests, environments, or tools to suit individual needs.
- Engage in team meetings and IEP discussions to assess student progress through evaluations, maintain documentation of student work, and devise intervention strategies to promote student success and development.
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, aides, and specialists to address individual student modifications, ongoing learning challenges, and interventions. Work collectively to ensure that each student's needs are met.
- Actively contribute to problem-solving and intervention teams to facilitate early identification and resolution of learning or behavioral issues.
- Complete necessary documentation of student progress and data for IEP reports, goals, and evaluations.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with parents and students regarding progress.
- Create a safe and supportive atmosphere conducive to a positive learning experience. Serve as a role model for appropriate behaviors, ensuring the social and emotional development of students is on track.
- Delegate tasks, instructions, or lessons to teacher assistants, assess their work, and provide ongoing feedback.
- Participate in various building and District teams or committees, offering insights and acting as a liaison to other staff members.
- Uphold and promote school policies, philosophies, and objectives with students and families.
- Collaborate with colleagues in planning, modifying, enhancing, and implementing curriculum and school goals.
- Engage in professional development and school improvement initiatives to foster continuous growth. Incorporate best practices and innovative strategies.
- Participate in extracurricular events outside of regular working hours, such as orientations, open houses, or conferences.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Compensation: Salary will be based on education and experience.
Work Environment: Elementary Classroom
