Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will engage with various departments across the organization, including Research & Development and General & Administrative support.

This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting in the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets. The Analyst will also be responsible for delivering monthly performance reports and collaborating with the accounting team during the month-end closing activities.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process, ensuring compliance with PO accrual requirements and documenting related accruals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Support the ongoing management of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Work with Research and G&A teams to review contract terms and align them with budgetary plans.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to create and standardize financial reports that highlight variances between actuals and forecasts, providing valuable business insights.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify the drivers of financial performance and discrepancies.
  • Partner with Research and G&A support functions to pinpoint financial risks and opportunities within the clinical organization.
  • Develop and continuously improve financial processes.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to uphold and enhance SOX-compliant controls, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the month-end accruals process.
  • Assist with external audits as required.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reporting related to Research and G&A to summarize forecast changes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate finance.
  • Familiarity with the drug development process and life sciences is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
  • Robust business acumen and partnership skills.
  • Proficient in Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Experience with reporting systems such as Adaptive Insights and NetSuite.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
