Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will engage with various departments, including Research & Development and General & Administrative support.

This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting with forecasts and annual budget preparations. The Analyst will also provide monthly financial reports and collaborate with the accounting team during the month-end closing process.
  • Participate in the monthly closing activities, ensuring compliance with PO accrual requirements and accurately recording related accruals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual budgets, quarterly forecast updates, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Support the ongoing management of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Work alongside Research and G&A teams to review contract terms and align them with budgetary plans.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to create and standardize financial reports that highlight variances between actuals and forecasts, providing valuable business insights.
  • Conduct variance analyses to identify the drivers of financial performance and discrepancies.
  • Engage with Research and G&A support functions to pinpoint financial risks and opportunities within the clinical organization.
  • Develop and continuously enhance financial processes.
  • Partner with the Finance team to uphold and improve SOX-compliant controls, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the month-end accruals process.
  • Assist with external audits as required.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analyses and reporting related to Research and G&A to summarize changes in forecasts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate finance.
  • Familiarity with the drug development process and life sciences is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
  • Robust business acumen and partnership capabilities.
  • Proficient in Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Experience with reporting systems such as Adaptive Insights and NetSuite.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
