Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Planning Analyst will engage with various departments, including Research & Development and General & Administrative support.

This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Participating in the monthly financial close process, ensuring compliance with PO accrual requirements and accurately recording related accruals.
  • Assisting in the formulation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Supporting the ongoing management of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Collaborating with Research and G&A teams to review contract terms and align them with budgetary plans.
  • Working alongside the Finance Manager to create and standardize financial reports that highlight variances between actuals and forecasts, providing valuable business insights.
  • Conducting variance analyses to identify the underlying causes of financial performance discrepancies.
  • Partnering with Research and G&A support functions to pinpoint financial risks and opportunities within the clinical organization.
  • Streamlining processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • Maintaining and improving SOX-compliant controls to ensure accuracy in the month-end accruals process.
  • Supporting external audits as required.
  • Providing ad hoc financial analyses and reporting related to Research and G&A to summarize forecast changes.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate finance.
  • Familiarity with the drug development process and life sciences is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
  • Excellent business acumen and partnership abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience with reporting systems such as Adaptive Insights and NetSuite.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
