Air Operations Specialist

OVERVIEW: The Air Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing Revenue Management initiatives and managing all post-ticketing modifications to optimize net ticket revenue while upholding our service excellence standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle incoming inquiries from both internal teams and external clients regarding the Air program, addressing issues, providing information, and offering assistance as necessary.
  • Manage all post-ticketing schedule alterations, discrepancies, and reservations that do not meet compliance standards.
  • Regularly oversee all relevant queues in the Amadeus Management Center, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor and address all reservations in the Air review Queue within Seaware.
  • Evaluate flight suggestions in the GDS platform to choose the most cost-effective fares, adhering to Air standards and considering vessel arrival and departure schedules.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on all air reservations/PNRs assigned, ensuring accuracy and compliance with service standards.
  • Implement the Travel With Guarantee program by rebooking eligible guests on the same flight itinerary.
  • Identify, escalate, and promptly follow up on any reservation or flight discrepancies, minimizing guest impact.
  • Respond to and manage all incoming requests from the Resolution Desk in a timely manner.
  • Engage frequently with airlines to negotiate waivers, name modifications, and necessary changes.
  • Stay updated on the airline industry and trends related to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's degree, Travel Agency School Certification, or a comparable combination of relevant experience is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of experience with a cruise line, tour operator, or airline reservations is required. Familiarity with airline policies, procedures, and contract pricing is advantageous.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong analytical abilities to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn revenue management concepts, tools, and strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to document work thoroughly as required.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
