Role Overview:
The BC/DR Specialist plays a crucial role in formulating, sustaining, and evaluating the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for Trulieve. This position is essential in ensuring that the organization can swiftly restore its vital functions and operations during any disruption or emergency. The BC/DR Specialist is also tasked with providing education and support to employees and stakeholders regarding effective practices and protocols for business continuity and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies in alignment with organizational goals, policies, and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to pinpoint potential threats and vulnerabilities to critical operations and assets.
- Formulate and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact and probability of disruptions.
- Execute regular testing and drills to assess the effectiveness and preparedness of the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor and report on the performance and compliance of the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and processes.
- Facilitate training and awareness initiatives for employees and stakeholders regarding their roles, best practices, and procedures for business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Support the incident management and crisis response teams during disruptions and aid in the recovery and restoration of critical operations.
- Analyze feedback and lessons learned from tests, drills, and incidents, recommending enhancements to the business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
Duties:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to business continuity and disaster recovery, including policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and templates.
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses for critical operations and assets, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Prioritize recovery objectives, strategies, and resources for essential functions and assets.
- Implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, including recovery procedures, roles, communication plans, and escalation protocols.
- Oversee the planning, execution, evaluation, and reporting phases of business continuity and disaster recovery tests and drills.
- Monitor internal and external environments for changes or emerging risks that may impact business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees and stakeholders to ensure familiarity and compliance with their roles and responsibilities.
- Assist incident management and crisis response teams during disruptions, offering guidance on recovery and restoration activities.
- Evaluate results and feedback from tests, drills, and incidents, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Enhance business continuity and disaster recovery strategies based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and management.
- Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery standards, frameworks, and methodologies, such as ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and BCI Good Practice Guidelines.
- Understanding of risk management principles and practices, including ISO 31000, COSO ERM, and NIST SP.
- Knowledge of incident management and crisis response principles and practices, such as NIMS, ICS, and ISO 22320.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Capable of working under pressure and adapting to changing and complex situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certification (Optional):
Certification in business continuity and disaster recovery, such as CBCP, CBRM, CRISC, or ISO 22301, is a plus.
Work Schedule:
40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs.
