Job Summary

UF Health is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. As a Financial Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing high-dollar outpatient service accounts to ensure financial reimbursement. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage high-dollar outpatient service accounts to ensure financial reimbursement
  • Perform referral processing, registration, and authorization/precertification as required
  • Monitor and maintain applicable EPIC work queues
  • Secure approvals from third-party payers by providing detailed clinical information and/or coordinating peer-to-peer reviews
  • Represent the Financial Division as a member of various intra-operational teams, providing financial perspectives required to make treatment or rescheduling decisions
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; college degree or related coursework desired
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a financial specialist/counselor required or 3 years of relative experience
  • Working knowledge of medical and insurance industry terminology required
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, recognize and react to changing priorities, and make timely and accurate judgment decisions
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in applications and ability to work with multiple computer systems
Working Conditions

This position does not require frequent driving and is not subject to the Motor Vehicle Operator Designation.
