Position Overview:
Axient LLC is seeking a mid-level Energy Operations Prototyping Specialist to provide support to the office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), specifically within the Office of Operational Energy Innovation (OE-I).

This role involves assisting the OUSD(A&S) OE-I office in the distribution of resources, overseeing, managing, and reporting on a diverse portfolio of over 100 OE-I initiatives spanning air, land, sea, cyber, and space domains, along with educational endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with individual operational energy innovation projects and engaging in multi-domain research tasks.
  • Facilitating the allocation of resources to project managers, ensuring all necessary documentation for fund transfers is completed, and monitoring the utilization of these resources.
  • Providing comprehensive reporting and funding analysis to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership regarding project execution.
  • Utilizing research, technology, engineering, management, and writing skills to support the OE-I mission.
  • Delivering high-quality written documentation of research and analytical support efforts.
  • Coordinating with Service energy offices, Joint Staff, and Combatant Commanders, including preparing briefings and organizing meetings to support OSD Operational Energy Innovation objectives.
  • Monitoring and tracking Congressional committee language and budgeting related to operational energy.
  • Collaborating with government laboratories, academic institutions, and industry partners to support various programs and OE education initiatives.
  • Providing insights and summaries on operational energy innovation to keep OSD senior staff informed of DOD challenges and capability gaps.
  • Understanding advanced operational energy innovation technology trends and collaborating with allies and industry as directed.
  • Supporting organizational meetings and communities of interest by coordinating and documenting OE innovation research.
  • Tracking the completion of assigned actions and generating necessary written and graphical materials.
  • Assisting with administrative requirements for effective project management.
  • Reviewing and tracking project funding documents and expenditures.
  • Creating and managing project schedules and generating briefs to monitor the status of multiple OE-I projects.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience supporting US Government, DOD, or NASA initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • A Master's degree (MS/MA) is highly desirable.
  • Active-duty military experience is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and conferences, including site visits to remote locations.
  • Must possess an active or transferable DoD security clearance at the required level.

Physical Requirements:
Light lifting may be required to move displays and technology mock-ups. Travel may include overseas locations requiring a current passport.
