Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Helicopter Pilot to join our dedicated team of emergency medical professionals, including pilots and mechanics.


Our core mission is to deliver critical care to those in need at a moment's notice, embodying the spirit of caregiving in every operation.

As a Regional Helicopter Pilot, you will provide essential support for Base Line Pilots during their scheduled absences, ensuring seamless operations across various bases within the Air Evac Region and, when necessary, beyond.

The scheduling of the Regional Helicopter Pilot will be managed by the Regional Director of Flight Operations, ensuring optimal coverage and compliance with all operational standards.

The Regional Helicopter Pilot is responsible for maintaining adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac EMS Operations Manual, and all relevant state and local regulations.

It is imperative to report for duty well-rested and prepared, staying informed of weather conditions and forecasts. Additionally, you will ensure that the aircraft is kept clean and ready for transport, with all necessary documentation submitted promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate the aircraft, prioritizing compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
  • Continuously monitor weather conditions and forecast changes.
  • Conduct thorough preflight inspections of the aircraft before accepting any missions, documenting any discrepancies in the engineering log and notifying maintenance as needed.
  • Promptly report any significant malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injuries to the Operations Center.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2000 hours total flight time.
  • At least 1500 hours of helicopter flight experience.
  • 1000 hours as Pilot in Command of a helicopter.
  • 500 hours of turbine flight time.
  • 100 hours of night flight experience unaided or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided.
  • Previous experience in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Pilot with a GMR company is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate.
  • Rotorcraft-Helicopter Instrument rating.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional demeanor, ethical standards, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities to analyze situations and develop alternative solutions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must not exceed a weight limit of 230 pounds while dressed in flight suit and boots.
