Compensation: $21.28 / Hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (9pm - 7am)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

General Role Summary

This role primarily involves working with youth aged 6-17 who face behavioral challenges in a residential setting. The position entails providing crisis intervention, support, and learning to recognize and address risk factors affecting youth. The Youth Support Specialist I cultivates a mentoring relationship with the youth, acknowledges their unique strengths, and promotes skill development and recreational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) with a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements.
  • Willingness to complete core competency training within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification as well as a Food Handler's Card.
  • Prior experience in effective communication and coordinating youth activities is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with youth to identify their strengths, challenges, and needs.
  • Facilitate skill-building and recreational activities tailored to youth.
  • Provide a structured daily routine that promotes safety and accountability.
  • Assist in planning and supervising recreational activities for each youth.
  • Guide youth in household responsibilities and leisure activities.
  • Communicate with family members and other support figures for the youth, as appropriate.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to organizational committees as directed.
