Reports to: President

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Must have excellent writing skills.
Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
Experience writing, reporting, and maintaining compliance for post-secondary technical documentation.
Capability of accurately completing grant reporting requirements.
Capacity to maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education competitive grant writing experience.
Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
Expertise in grant research and funding needs.

General Duties:

The Grants and Projects Specialist is responsible for understanding the organizational needs and searching for ways to support them through grant funding and institutional service. The individual oversees writing and reporting on the institution's grants along with helping maintain records and reporting for other institutional areas as required. The Grants and Projects Specialist will maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position will include some travel, both around the service area for support throughout the community and beyond the service area for conferences. This position also serve as the Title VI and IX Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities – Essential Job Functions

The Grants and Projects Specialist is responsible to perform the following:

Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization to effectively search for appropriate funding sources and complete reporting needs;
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables;
Coordinate and track progress against project plans, adjusting as needed to ensure successful completion;
Manage projects in various areas by planning, implementing, establishing KPIs, and follow-up;
Conduct research on grant opportunities as needed to prepare reports;
Draft effective grant proposals, reports, and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization;
Assist in the maintenance of required program records;
Ensure that grant funds are utilized as planned;
Foster partnerships with secondary schools, service agencies and other organizations;
Support the institution's accreditation efforts as requested;
Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned projects;
Serve as Title VI and Title IV Coordinator;
Support and coordinate special projects including outreach, recruiting, and community events as assigned;
Support SkillsUSA through the Perkins Grant requirements;
Utilize Banner to pull information for grant reporting;
Work with internal and external stakeholders to scope project requirements and objectives, as well as response to inquiries; and
Other duties as assigned.

Background checks will be completed on all new hires. Instructors will be asked to sign a background release authorizing TCAT McMinnville to complete a background check which will include the following: Sex Offender Registry, County Criminal, & Federal Criminal.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions (ADA REQUIREMENTS)

Walking, climbing, bending and stooping. Work performed in office, testing center and classroom environments. Position requires the use of a computer.

Sedentary Work – Walking or standing to a significant degree; sitting for brief periods of time; be able to bend and stoop; use body members (arms, hands, fingers), and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience, education and training according to Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
