General Role Summary

This role primarily involves working with youth aged 6-17 who face behavioral challenges in a supportive residential environment. The Youth Support Specialist I is responsible for providing crisis intervention, support, and identifying risk factors affecting youth. This position emphasizes building mentoring relationships, recognizing individual strengths, and facilitating skill development and recreational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) with a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements.
  • Ability to complete core competency training within the first three months of employment.
  • Capability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications as well as a Food Handler's Card.
  • Prior experience in effective communication and coordinating youth activities is advantageous.
