Job Summary

Covenant Health is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Account Representative I Corporate to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for reviewing patient accounts, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate billing and claim processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient accounts for resolution, checking status with insurance companies and determining necessary actions for claim finalization
  • Review accounts with full or partial claim denials to identify root causes and determine best courses of action for resolution
  • Learn and understand payer rules, state, and federal guidelines
  • Prioritize and complete work according to departmental productivity and quality standards
  • Facilitate communication between insurance companies and patients to resolve issues holding up claims processing
  • Collaborate with other Covenant departments to correct issues with billed claims
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably with knowledge of medical terminology, claims submission, and customer service
  • Computer experience required
  • Familiarity with insurance plans and requirements, as well as collection practices
