Purpose
  • The District Parts & Service Manager acts as the intermediary between Hyundai Motor America and its dealerships, focusing on enhancing dealer performance in vehicle sales, customer loyalty, and profitability. This role involves communicating, implementing, and supporting dealers through various programs, policies, and procedures designed to cultivate and promote well-managed, profitable parts and service departments. The ideal candidate will analyze dealer operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions to uphold the Hyundai brand image while boosting dealer profitability.
Major Responsibilities
  • Regularly engage with dealers to communicate, implement, and manage Hyundai Motor America programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor dealer performance and advise regional management on adherence to policies in areas such as Parts Sales, Inventory Control, Fixed Operations Training, Warranty Administration, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Convey assigned objectives from Hyundai Motor America and collaborate with dealers to ensure progress toward these goals.
  • Provide technical support to verify vehicle operational issues, warranty repair procedures, and customer concerns.
  • Deliver written feedback to Hyundai Motor America through detailed reports.
  • Assess dealer performance in relation to the Hyundai dealer agreement.
  • Offer recommendations for operational enhancements to dealership managers to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and profitability.
  • Ensure consistent participation in training sessions at regional and satellite locations.
Continued Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with dealers to implement processes that enhance customer satisfaction and manage the resolution of customer complaints within the assigned district.
  • Meet with customers as necessary to address concerns.
  • Maximize Parts & Accessory Sales within the district.
  • Administer Hyundai Motor America Goodwill funds to elevate customer satisfaction and increase repurchase intent.
  • Represent Hyundai Motor America in matters related to the Better Business Bureau and State Lemon Law cases, assisting corporate attorneys in case development.
  • Engage in special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Willingness to travel extensively is required.
Authority
  • Identify deficiencies in Parts and Service departments and propose reasonable corrective actions.
  • Analyze technical concerns and authorize repairs in accordance with Hyundai policies for warranty and goodwill expenses.
  • Authorize discretionary spending for parts in goodwill situations.
  • Evaluate customer disputes and approve appropriate financial assistance to resolve concerns in the best interest of both the customer and Hyundai Motor America.
Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
Related Experience
  • Five to seven years of experience, including at least three years in directly related wholesale automotive roles.
  • Retail experience is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of automotive retail operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dealership sales, service, and parts operations, utilizing experience to enhance operational performance.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in PC usage and Windows-based software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities using qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Business and financial literacy with a solid grasp of concepts impacting organizational success and profitability.
  • Organizational and planning skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Negotiation and problem resolution skills, with the ability to build relationships and maintain composure under pressure.

Annual salary range: $86,000 - $124,000.
