Position Overview:
Company: Communication Giant
Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Program Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Interview Availability: Immediate
Important Note:
This role combines project management and data analysis. Candidates must possess substantial experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and be capable of independently calculating emissions. A lack of experience in the financial or accounting aspects of GHG will be a disqualifying factor. The primary focus will be on measuring and reporting GHG data.
Role Summary:
The Sustainability Data & Reporting Program Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Services organization in climate-related measurement, management, and reporting of Communication Giant's greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon emissions stemming from business operations and real estate activities. This individual is essential to the Sustainability department's efforts in program management, reporting, analysis, and relationship-building aimed at minimizing our carbon footprint, which in turn reduces operational costs, enhances efficiencies, and lowers emissions across the economy. With a strong emphasis on data integrity, process consistency, and reporting accuracy, this position will ensure the delivery of cost-effective, operationally efficient, environmentally responsible, and value-added sustainable reporting and practices within business operations. As a vital member of the Sustainability team, this role will report to the Senior Director of Sustainability.
Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, research, or a related field, with some project management background.
- 2+ years of experience in sustainability or greenhouse gas/carbon accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to consolidate data from multiple spreadsheets and utilize advanced functions such as VLOOKUP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Experience with online content management and collaboration tools, such as Salesforce and/or Salesforce Net Zero Cloud.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas emission accounting standards and guidelines (GHG Protocol) and sustainability reporting frameworks such as CDP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the telecommunications, technology, and connectivity sectors.
- Experience in public accounting or consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and report GHG inventory data in various formats (Excel, PowerPoint, dashboards) and breakdowns (by scope, by goals/targets, and by business division) as requested by Sustainability or internal teams.
- Support cross-functional stakeholders in collecting activity data, including data validation and surveys from site managers as necessary.
- Consolidate reporting of emissions reduction initiatives across Scopes 1, 2, and 3; ensure carbon reduction initiatives are reviewed and approved by relevant internal stakeholders.
- Assist in process improvements, analysis, audits, and reporting on GHG, climate, and efficiency initiatives data collection methods.
- Conduct benchmarking and research on sustainability using available public/external reports (ESG reporting, SASB, CDP, TCFD).
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the Communication Giant Sustainability program.
Compensation:
- The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 annually.
- Factors influencing compensation within this range may include geographic location, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Benefits Offered:
- The Company provides a range of benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, including: medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; long-term and short-term disability insurance; 5 personal days accrued each calendar year; paid time off benefits that comply with local laws; 10-15 days of paid vacation; 6 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday each calendar year; access to the Ascendion Learning Management System.
