POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Inspector will be engaged in overseeing the operations of contractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations. This role primarily involves working on various electrical components associated with construction and renovation projects, which may range from moderate to high complexity. The inspector will ensure that all work complies with established contract terms and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

  • Review and analyze plans and specifications relevant to ongoing construction contracts.
  • Communicate any constructability concerns or discrepancies in plans to the project engineer or supervisor.
  • Supervise daily activities of contractor or subcontractor personnel to confirm compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Address basic inquiries from contractors regarding plan and specification requirements.
  • Identify and discuss any contractor methods that deviate from established plans and specifications with the contractor and project engineer.
  • Conduct measurements and observations of ongoing work to ensure accurate tracking of completed quantities.
  • Prepare detailed field drawings or electronic templates to support calculations for justifying pay quantities.
  • Monitor and assess material testing requirements.
  • Apply appropriate testing frequencies for various materials utilized in the projects.
  • Complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) to document pay quantities, material needs, and contractor personnel.
  • Document all project activities through photographic evidence.
  • Assist in the preparation of quantity estimates and construction cost assessments.
  • Collaborate with the project team in client meetings regarding project-related issues.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the construction environment.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work as necessary to meet project demands, including nights and weekends.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree in Construction Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in construction materials testing is essential.
  • Relevant construction certifications or the capability to obtain them.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work independently for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail with effective decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records, reports, and correspondence related to the work.

COMPENSATION
The compensation range for this position is approximately $21.53/hr to $33.45/hr. This range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and work location.
