Job Overview

DM Enterprises is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Construction Inspector to join our team. This role is essential for overseeing the construction and renovation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily site evaluations to verify adherence to approved designs, specifications, and regulatory codes while maintaining accurate project documentation and testing records.
  • Create daily construction reports detailing all activities and project advancements utilizing client software tools.
  • Identify construction challenges and implement standard solutions to address these issues effectively.
  • Assess contractor schedules and payment requests, providing recommendations to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Act as the owner's representative throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor and manage the quality of work being performed.
  • Review work progress to ensure alignment with the construction timeline.
  • Evaluate contractor change orders and claims, offering recommendations to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Interpret contractor submissions, Requests for Information (RFIs), change order requests, and as-built documentation.
  • Communicate site conditions and any conflicts or changes to project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Collaborate with clients and contractors while following guidance from project supervisors or construction managers.
  • Maintain detailed records of contractor performance and progress.
  • Oversee the technical submittal, shop drawing review, and RFI processes.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of temporary traffic management and lane closure measures.
  • Demonstrate independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Assist project supervisors or construction managers in compiling data for monthly reports.
  • Develop and manage a construction punch list.
  • Work closely with team members and personnel from various agencies.
  • Adapt to project-specific schedules that may extend beyond regular working hours.
  • Provide constructive feedback to subcontractors and colleagues to ensure tasks are completed safely and accurately.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to DM Enterprises' policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in electrical or communication construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction management processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction testing requirements.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of construction inspection principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of road safety and traffic control management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
Education and Experience:
  • Technical degree in Electrical or Communication field or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in field inspection and construction management of electrical or communication projects.
Certifications:
  • Master Electrician and/or Certified Electrical Inspector in the relevant state.
