Environmental Laboratory Manager

The Environmental Laboratory Manager will be tasked with supervising the daily functions of the Environmental laboratory focused on the analysis of soil, water, and air samples. This role collaborates with all laboratory divisions to ensure that operations align with client specifications. Responsibilities encompass staffing, equipment management, training, systems access, and maintaining suitable work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that EBIT objectives are achieved through effective management of operational processes, procedures, staffing, and other relevant efficiencies.
- Identify and implement enhancements as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Technical Managers to guarantee that laboratory data complies with all relevant method criteria, client specifications, and the standards set by accrediting organizations.
- Oversee workplace safety, ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and internal policies; proactively identify and address potentially hazardous situations.
- Engage in production meetings, safety briefings, safety inspections, monthly employee gatherings, and all incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with turnaround time for all samples processed in the laboratory according to ALS and client expectations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline or a related field is mandatory.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in roles such as Department Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Manager, or Analyst.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Effective verbal and auditory communication skills for interaction with staff, management, and clients.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and other laboratory equipment.
- Average vision necessary for reading reports.
- Willingness to travel to client sites to foster new business opportunities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, LIMS, and online reference resources.
- Exceptional customer relations skills, including the ability to support sales and marketing efforts during client visits and presentations.
- Capability to encourage staff development and manage conflicts as needed.
Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
