Laboratory Supervisor

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the quality of testing and calibration services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage laboratory testing activities, including scheduling technicians and workload management.
- Implement and maintain the Atlas Quality Management System, ensuring that technicians correctly perform testing, calibrations, and calculations.
- Train, coordinate, and supervise assigned staff, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.
- Work independently, using industry knowledge to solve problems of moderate scope.
- Assume responsibility for daily laboratory activities in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.
- 5+ years of experience in laboratory testing of construction materials, specifically soils.
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug and MVR checks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or higher in Construction Technology, Construction Management, or a related engineering field (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure in a high-pressure environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs and ability to use a company laptop or tablet computer.
Experience in soils testing required: ICC Soils Special Inspector or ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician.
Preferred Qualities- Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS).
