The Senior Laboratory Manager will oversee the daily operation of the chemistry division, ensuring the highest quality of analytical results and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operation of the chemistry division, including staffing, budgeting, and quality control.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures, including CAP and NYSDOH proficiency testing.
- Train and mentor laboratory staff on new procedures and technologies.
- Collaborate with the Lab Director to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory statistics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA and CAP.
- Baccalaureate degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or forensic science, with 24 credits in chemistry.
- Three years of experience in laboratory management, with a focus on quality control and instrumentation.
- Strong leadership and technical expertise in laboratory management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
