Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Director to oversee the daily operations of our Environmental laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the laboratory's daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Ensure the laboratory's operational processes, procedures, and staffing meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement improvements to laboratory operations as needed to ensure the highest level of service to clients.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with Quality Assurance and Technical Managers to ensure laboratory data meets all applicable method criteria, client criteria, and accrediting body requirements.
- Worksite Safety: Oversee worksite safety, including adherence to OSHA requirements and internal policies, and identify and address potentially hazardous conditions promptly.
- Collaboration and Communication: Participate in production meetings, safety meetings, safety inspections, monthly employee meetings, and incident investigations to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Turnaround Time Compliance: Ensure turnaround time compliance for all samples processed through the laboratory meets ALS and client requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field is required.
- Experience: At least 3 years' experience as a Department Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Manager, or Analyst.
- Eligibility: Legally eligible to work in the US.
- Communication Skills: Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and Internet-based reference libraries.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer relation skills, including the ability to assist sales and marketing with client visits and presentations.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to promote staff development and manage conflicts as necessary.
