Position Summary

Sign-On Incentive: $1,000

This role involves providing essential support to the Lead Program Assistant in the operational activities of the AODA Residential Center. The position requires participation in mandatory staff meetings and active engagement in the daily functioning of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and assist residents/clients daily, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Implement and enforce established policies and daily procedures.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions for new clients.
  • Arrive early for medication counts and administer medications accurately and promptly.
  • Complete daily and weekly checklists relevant to the shifts worked, including care logs for clients with children.
  • Conduct inspections and room searches to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Support residents in acquiring essential life skills, including punctuality, courtesy, and basic household management.
  • Maintain professional relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure the facility remains free from alcohol and drugs, conducting random drug screenings bi-weekly.
  • Assign and supervise resident chores, providing assistance as needed to uphold house standards.
  • Monitor food preparation and distribution processes.
  • Adhere to fire safety regulations and conduct regular emergency drills.
  • Ensure residents' fundamental needs are met, including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and rest, while facilitating attendance at necessary appointments.
  • Model healthy interactions and effective communication, clearly outlining the consequences of behavior choices while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Adjust communication styles to suit the developmental levels of residents.
  • Provide constructive feedback that is specific, timely, and respectful.
  • Coordinate transportation for residents as needed, utilizing either agency or personal vehicles.
  • Review staff communication logs daily, maintain a master schedule for client appointments, and prepare maintenance and supply requests.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate Degree is preferred. Experience in supervisory roles is advantageous. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are a plus. Prior experience in substance abuse treatment is beneficial. A valid driver's license and insured vehicle are required, with the ability to operate a 16-passenger agency van.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a business environment with general office duties and local travel as necessary.
