The Direct Support Professional is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Health Histories. This position requires a strong commitment to facilitating healthy and socially acceptable behaviors in community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Care: Provide supervision and support to individuals in accordance with their Person-Centered Support Plan, including administering medication as needed and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Community Integration: Assist consumers in accessing community supports, including medical appointments, social security benefits, and other essential services.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete required documentation in a timely manner and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in the human services field is preferred.
- Skills: Basic computer and internet literacy, with the ability to utilize applications like email and time recording software.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license and subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance if applicable.
