Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Resident Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients, including creating and implementing individualized plans of care, administering medication, and participating in training opportunities. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client
• Administer medication to clients as prescribed by medical professionals
• Participate in training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household management
• Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or medical status to supervisors and medical professionals
• Participate in community-based outings and activities to promote socialization and independence

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in the field of human services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation

This is a part-time position with a schedule of Saturday and Sunday 6am-2pm and Thursday 3pm-10pm.
