Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Resident Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients, including creating a positive learning environment, implementing individualized plans of care, and promoting independence and self-advocacy. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Develop and implement individualized plans of care to promote independence and self-advocacy
• Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and transportation
• Monitor and report changes in client behavior, medical conditions, and other relevant information to the Program Manager and RN
• Participate in training opportunities and maintain required certifications and training
• Assist with household management, meal preparation, and maintenance of a clean and safe living environment
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and community partners

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• At least two years of experience in the field of human services, preferably in a residential setting
• Valid CT driver's license and good driving record required
• Ability to lift and transfer 70-75lbs and perform active work, both inside and outside of the program
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families

Friday and Saturday: 10pm-6am, Sunday and Monday: 10pm-7am
