Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Workforce Development

The Virginia Community Colleges invites nominations and applications for the position of Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Workforce Programs. This is a key leadership role that will drive the strategic alignment, integration, and coordination of academic, student, workforce, and research programs and services across the system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership for a large and complex portfolio of responsibilities, including strategic planning, program development, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with college presidents, faculty, and staff to advance the system's mission and strategic plan.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance academic and workforce development programs, improve student success, and increase diversity and inclusion.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including business, industry, and government partners.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in higher education, preferably in a community college setting.
- Strong commitment to the community college mission and values.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
