Human Resources Generalist

The University of Washington is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Administrator to join our team. As a key member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology, you will provide critical support for staff HR operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Human Resource Administration
- Serve as primary Division HR liaison and work closely with the UW HR employment team on a full spectrum of HR issues.
- Coach and guide managers and supervisors on organizational matters, performance, and corrective issues.
- Advise and consult with payroll specialist and HR specialist in matters related to new staff appointments, reclassifications, and performance management.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand objectives, assess hiring needs, and manage searches.
- Make recommendations to Division leadership for improvement of department human resource policies, procedures, and practices.
- Research and review salary levels and compare for equity within the Division.
- Act as mediator in employee disputes that do not require escalation.
- Mentor and advise Division HR Specialist.
- Staff HR Operations
- Oversee and manage operational needs related to Division staff.
- Provide guidance to Division managers on establishing, documenting, and maintaining written office procedures.
- Ensure compliance for all employees regarding HIPAA and privacy forms.
- DEI, Special Projects and Other Duties as Assigned
- Integrate DEI best practices into hiring and HR processes.
- Plan and manage regular training and professional development opportunities for HEMONC employees.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to identify ways to recognize significant staff contributions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline; and 3 or more years of human resources experience.
- Experience working with a large, structured personnel system.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of and facility with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
