Senior Analyst of Investment Operations

Position Overview:

At Pacific Life, we are dedicated to attracting talented, diverse individuals who can help us innovate and enhance our customer experience. We are currently looking for a Senior Analyst of Investment Operations to join our Fixed Income Operations team. This position offers flexibility with options for on-site, hybrid, or fully remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with broker-dealers, custodial banks, agents, legal advisors, and internal departments to ensure efficient settlement processes.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new third-party partners and manage asset transition initiatives.
  • Handle investment-related funding processes, such as capital calls.
  • Exhibit expertise across various asset classes, including Private Placements, Bank Loans, CLOs, and ABS.
  • Regularly conduct reconciliations for income, positions, and Security Master data.
  • Collaborate directly with front office teams, including trade floor personnel and credit analysts, to address issues and inquiries.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by partnering with teams across the organization to support strategic objectives.
  • Ensure accurate onboarding of new investments into internal systems while tracking relevant terms.
  • Work closely with Accounting, Compliance, and Audit teams to uphold established controls and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in fixed income within investment operations or middle office roles in asset management, hedge funds, or investment banking.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment operations, including current concepts, regulations, and technologies utilized in trading workflows.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to grasp abstract concepts and identify patterns.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with standard legal documentation related to Private Placement and Bank Loan settlements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven with strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in systems such as Bloomberg, Excel, Business Objects, Power BI, ePAM, and MS Office Suite.
  • Technical literacy to effectively liaise with IT support and development teams regarding issues and requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external counsel and senior investment professionals to resolve complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in following documented processes and procedures while exhibiting attention to detail and initiative for process improvement.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Research and problem-solving skills, including familiarity with legal documents and internal records related to securities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Private Placement or Bank Loan settlement and reconciliation, with expertise in ePAM, Business Objects, and Power BI.
