About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Solutions Leader to join our team at New York Life Insurance Company. As a key member of our Purchase Experience Value Stream, you will play a critical role in driving the development of key strategic capabilities that enhance underwriting processes, increase efficiency of policy issuance, and improve risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and Manage Data Flows: Design and implement data flows to effectively deliver reporting solutions that provide transparency in business operations.
  • Product Ownership: Function as a product owner for business solutions and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Program Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor program performance, designing key performance indicators to improve the end-user/customer experience.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with business stakeholders and technology teams to enhance internal solution offerings.
  • Technical Analysis: Perform detailed technical analysis to support the identification and prioritization of business requirements and rules.
  • Insight-Driven Decision Making: Support decisions through key insights and data analysis of important factors driving program management.
  • Presentation and Communication: Develop presentations and data visualizations to synthesize and communicate trends to various constituencies and management.
  • Project Management: Work independently to follow through and complete assigned projects and prioritized tasks.
Requirements
  • Strong Interpersonal and Analytical Skills: Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to drive the realization of project goals and completion of time-bound deliverables.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to stay organized and multi-task with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Broad knowledge of the life insurance industry, underwriting, and business operations is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Quantitative Skills: Requires strong quantitative skills and high attention to detail to make data-driven decisions.
  • Database Querying: Competency in building queries to extract data from databases using SQL is required.
  • Analytics and Visualization: Expertise in analytics/visualization/business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI is required.
  • Database Schema Understanding: Ability to understand database schema that translates into developing data reporting and insights is required.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint skills is preferred.
  • Data Visualization: Experience utilizing data visualization techniques and tools, including business intelligence platforms, is preferred.
Experience
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years, or master's degree and minimum 3 years of experience in roles across life insurance, healthcare, consulting, data analysis, and program management.
  • Research and Analysis: Hands-on experience with conducting research and analysis and optimizing operational processes.
  • Program Management: Hands-on experience in program management and change management is preferred.
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile framework/methodologies is strongly preferred.
  • Medical Records and Health Data: Familiarity with medical records and health data is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000-$145,000, with opportunities for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including leave programs, adoption assistance, and student loan repayment programs.
