We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Manager for the Final Assembly Process to lead our team in Scranton, Iowa. This role involves overseeing a skilled workforce responsible for the concluding phases of our assembly process, ensuring that each refuse truck body is accurately mounted on the truck chassis. This includes managing the preparation process, wiring, and hydraulic systems. A strong technical background and the ability to foster innovation are essential for this position.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe working environment and promote adherence to safety protocols among team members.
  • Oversee or coordinate manufacturing timelines.
  • Design efficient manufacturing lines and implement changes as necessary, utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for productivity enhancement.
  • Supervise Supervisors to ensure all operations are synchronized, minimizing downtime and maintaining product quality standards.
  • Develop procedures and techniques aimed at reducing process variability and manufacturing delays while boosting productivity.
  • Review staffing requests, engage in the hiring process, and set expectations in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Recruit, train, assess, or terminate employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage performance and collaborate with HR on disciplinary matters as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to guarantee the availability of necessary materials and equipment for team members.
  • Manage labor costs in relation to budgetary constraints.
  • Align production schedules with supporting departments and address manufacturing challenges related to methods, tools, materials, and workforce.
  • Communicate expectations and challenges effectively to Supervisors.
Qualifications for Success:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a leadership capacity is required.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system and the ability to generate metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of processes and equipment relevant to a similar industry.
  • Capability to plan and execute changes effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and work with urgency and minimal supervision.
  • Mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of fractions and angles.
  • Financial acumen to make decisions that influence profitability.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including the ability to create documents and spreadsheets, as well as utilize Payroll and Enterprise Resource Planning software.
