Position Overview:


The Senior Risk Management Specialist is responsible for developing, analyzing, and executing diverse risk segmentation strategies, including but not limited to, underwriting decisions, credit line adjustments, exposure management, risk segmentation, and optimizing financial returns.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of credit card profit and loss drivers and the impact of portfolio actions on the P&L.

The specialist will conduct in-depth analyses to extract insights and recommend credit risk strategies to senior leadership, ensuring that the portfolio aligns with TD Credit Card's risk appetite and complies with all regulatory requirements.

Risk analysis will involve complex data sets, including cohort time series marketing investments, decision expenses, risk-adjusted revenue, risk-adjusted margins, NPV, ROE, and more, with minimal guidance from management.

Scope of Responsibilities:
Performs functions associated with Risk Manager I
Generally recognized as an expert at the enterprise or group business level
Acts as the primary regulatory liaison on risk-related issues for a significant business segment of the Bank, assessing and guiding compliance with existing and new regulations
Collaborates with cross-functional teams beyond risk
Represents the business in corporate initiatives, identifying key risks and implications while providing direction in complex scenarios

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree preferred or relevant progressive work experience.
10+ years of experience required.
5 years of experience in Credit Cards / Lending Risk Analytics preferred.
Familiarity with Credit Cards business and P&L dynamics preferred.

Hands-on knowledge of essential credit programs within Credit Cards, such as underwriting, line assignment, credit line increases, and decreases preferred.


Proficient in MS Office and various analytical and reporting software packages.

Experience with relational databases and knowledge of analytical/reporting tools such as Python, SAS, R, etc. preferred.


Working knowledge of credit scoring models and their application in risk management decisions preferred.
Strong academic background in Statistics, Mathematics/Sciences, Econometrics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar fields, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and draw conclusions.
Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
Meticulous attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive relationships with peers and stakeholders.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced in formulating and presenting recommendations to senior management.
