Job Overview:

The Senior Risk Management Specialist, Credit Retail is responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and assessment of diverse risk segmentation strategies. This includes, but is not limited to, adjudication, exposure management, risk segmentation, and optimizing financial returns. The Specialist delivers essential insights, comprehensive analyses, and implements critical credit risk strategies that align with TD's risk appetite while complying with regulatory standards. The role involves investigating, formulating, and validating various risk segmentation strategies and policies through the analysis of complex data sets, including cohort time series analysis of PCL, Marketing Investments, Decision Expense, Risk Adjusted Revenue, Risk Adjusted Margin, NPV, ROE, etc., with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs functions associated with Risk Manager I
  • Possesses expertise at the enterprise or group business level
  • Serves as the primary regulatory liaison on risk matters for a significant business segment
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with teams beyond risk
  • Represents the business in corporate initiatives, identifying key risks and implications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree preferred or equivalent progressive experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in MS Office and various analytical and reporting software
  • Experience with Relational Databases and ETL processes using languages such as SQL or SAS
  • Familiarity with SAS Enterprise Miner, FICO Model Builder, or Angoss Knowledge Seeker
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and derive conclusions
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple tasks
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining productive business relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in presenting recommendations to Senior Management
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies; leads the identification and implementation of new initiatives and operational efficiencies; assists in enhancing credit risk assessment capabilities; conducts detailed analyses to inform Senior Management on critical strategies; generates reports on implemented strategies and makes recommendations for efficiency and revenue improvement; collaborates with Internal Audit/External Regulators to ensure documentation completeness; ensures proactive risk management within the Bank's guidelines.
