Your contributions will significantly impact the efficiency and satisfaction of our product teams by ensuring their seamless ability to develop, test, and deploy code.
This position is remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical leader for a US-based platform automation team.
- Collaborate closely with your team to define, assess feasibility, scope, and achieve desired outcomes for the continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
- Work in partnership with platform engineers, systems architects, and other technical leaders from the US and Sweden on shared concerns regarding system security, observability, uptime, and performance.
- Oversee the maintenance of Jenkins and PowerShell automation that provisions our development, testing, staging, and production environments, scales production resources, and deploys code to production.
- Develop maintainable and testable infrastructure-as-code using PowerShell and Pester, adhering to established best practices.
- Lead the team’s initiatives to modernize its provisioning architecture, transitioning from Jenkins to GitHub Actions, creating pipelines for testing and deployment of microservices, and enhancing infrastructure availability.
- Mentor fellow platform engineers and software engineers as they transition existing monolithic services to microservices.
Qualifications:
You should possess over 7 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code in roles such as software engineer, site reliability engineer, or architect.
Experience in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure for web applications and microservices is essential, utilizing tools like virtual networks, virtual machines, containers, functions, queues, and storage.
Our existing infrastructure is deployed on Azure.
Proficiency in PowerShell, Pester, and Jenkins is required, while familiarity with New Relic and GitHub Actions is advantageous.
You should be adept at breaking down large development tasks into manageable, testable components.
Experience with source control and bug tracking software is necessary; we utilize Git and Jira.
Ability to effectively manage and maintain the deployment pipeline for a distributed team responsible for the continuous delivery of web-based applications built using the .NET Framework is crucial.
You should be knowledgeable in agile, lean/continuous software development, and Kanban methodologies.
We seek an independent self-starter who is not hesitant to ask questions and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for collaborating with colleagues across multiple time zones and countries.
Salary:
$140-150K/year (DOE)
