Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cloud AI & Advanced Systems Engineering (CAASE) team at Microsoft. As a key member of our team, you will design and implement software components to enable and optimize the Azure fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapidly deploy cloud-scale code and monitor telemetry to ensure efficient and reliable cloud services.
  • Design, develop, and operate large-scale cloud services that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex, mission-critical solutions that involve multiple Azure Services.
  • Participate in on-call coverage rotation, troubleshoot application issues, and apply mitigations to ensure high service quality and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement of service quality and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
  • 3+ years of experience with system software, operating system internals, Linux or Windows device driver development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software design and development experience with C/C++, Rust.
  • Built and shipped software, including at least one product development cycle.
  • Developed and managed cloud or hyper-scale services or infrastructure.
  • Understanding of the interaction between system software, hardware architecture, and protocols.

  • Competitive base pay range of USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year, with a different range applicable to specific work locations.
